Line the baking tray with parchment paper. It is also important to not have the paper too big – as it will flap around in the oven deflecting the heat and you will not get even crisp bacon.

Make sure the tray has enough of a rim that it does not let the bacon fat or drippings run out.

There is no need to put any oil or cooking spray and the bacon will cook nicely in its own fat.

You can get a semi crispy bacon from the microwave – by taking a microwave-safe plate and paper towels. Place bacon on top of the paper towels without overlapping. Cover on the top with another 2 layers of paper towels. Microwave on high for about 5 minutes for crispy bacon

But honestly,  we do think that oven baked bacon is simply best.

Yes, you can use aluminum foil instead of parchment paper but we found that the bacon gets crispier on parchment paper. Plus it does not stick to the paper
