They are something everybody, including kids love to eat – here is how you can make a variation of the famous Mexican shredded beef not in a slow cooker but in a pressure cooker – fast and easy that the whole family enjoys eating.

Marinate Steak – put cumin powder, 1/2 the chili powder and 1/2 the paprika and massage it all over the steak it is a simple marinade (let it stand for about 30 minutes while you continue to prepare the other ingredients)

Saute – Turn the instant pot to saute and add a little olive oil – and cook the onions till clear, then add the garlic and cook for another 1 minute – stirring all the time. Similar to cooking carne asada in a pan.

Put the steak in and brown it off.

Now add the beef broth or beef stock (you can use chicken stock) and use it to deglaze the bottom of the pot.

Add the parsley and the rest of the chili powder, paprika and season with salt and pepper. Then add in the honey.

Cook on High-Pressure time is about 20 minutes with 10 minutes of natural release.

Check the meat is tender.

Chefs Tip – to really take your steak taco to the next level, you can brown the meat under the grill for 5 minutes, watching carefully just until the tips brown – this will give you an amazing flavored steak taco.

Salsa Make a salsa by dicing the tomato and red onions – and adding diced cilantro (coriander) with some lime juice. – Season with salt and pepper to taste.
