Assemble all your Ingredients

It really does help to get organized by getting all your ingredients measured and organized first. 

Why - because when you have never made a recipe before - having all your ingredients ready means that you can firstly check them off against the recipe before you start so that nothing is missing. 

Secondly - as you are moving through the cooking steps it lets you focus on the dish preparation rather than jumping around looking for or preparing a missed item.

Get you Ribs Ready

Here we get our ribs ready to put into the Carolina honey sauce mix.

Prepare the Carolina Honey Sauce

Now put all the wet and dry ingredients into a bowl and with a whisk like you see here.
 Mix them really well so all the dry ingredients are incorporated into the sauce.

You can taste the sauce after it is mixed to see if you need to add any more seasoning or cayene pepper according to taste.

Put the Ribs into the Onepot

Put the dunked ribs in the instant pot with 4 cups of water - or until at least half the ribs are covered with water.

Put on the instant pot lid and set for pressure cook - high pressure for 25 minutes. Allow for 10 minutes of natural pressure release

Plate Up And Eat

Now it is time to plate up and get ready for one of the most tender best tasing meals you have ever had.
 
While the ribs are cooking - put the remaining sauce in a pan and reduce the liquid by 20-30 percent to make slightly thicker.

Also, put in a tray of your favorite French fries.

Instant Pot Recipe

Pork Ribs Carolina Honey

Serves 4 people
1566 calories 

Ingredients

1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
1 cup ketchup
1/2 cup molasses
1 tablespoon smoked paprika
1 tablespoon oregano dried - or diced if fresh
1 tablespoon parsley dried - or diced if fresh
1 pinch cayenne pepper
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder 
1/2 cup honey 
1/2 cup chicken stock 
1/4 cup bourbon 
1/2 teaspoon salt 
 1/2 teaspoon pepper 

Method

 1.  Put all the ingredients in a pot or steel bowl and mix well - we used a whisk
2.  Get the ribs and dunk then in the sauce (see photo) for flavor
3.  Put the dunked ribs in the instant pot with 4 cups of water - or until at least half the ribs are covered with water. 
4. Put on the instant pot lid and set for pressure cook - high pressure for 25 minutes. 
5. Put the sauce in a pot and bring to the boil with stirring- you want to thicken and therefore intensify the sauce flavor. Reduce the volume by around 30 percent. 
6. At a similar time place in the oven your french fries so they are ready at a similar time (usually put on about 5-10 minutes after the instant pot has come up to pressure. 
7. After the instant pot beeps -allow for 10 minutes of natural pressure release 
8. Place the Ribs on an oven tray (put some foil on the tray first - it makes cleaning easier) 
9. Brush the reduced sauce - put heaps on both sides of the ribs 
10. Put in the oven on broil for 5 minutes - but watch the ribs very closely so they do not burn 
11. Now you should be ready to plate up and enjoy

Tips

1.  If the Ribs are quite meaty then you may need an extra 5 minutes cooking time for the instant pot.
2.  Use the extra sauce for the french fries.
3.  Extra sauce can also be frozen
