Reheating rice on the stovetop is a great method for using leftover rice. This method is ideal for big groups when you have prepared the rice in advance of a party.

  • Let the rice get warm to room temperature. Set it aside for about 20-30 minutes after taking it out of the fridge.

  • Place in a medium-deep pot for easy stirring. Depending on how much rice is left, for about a cup of rice put 2-3 tablespoons of water. This is to avoid heating rice to a crunchy texture.

  • Cover the pot with a lid over low heat for 4-5 minutes. Stir occasionally if the rice is still clumping to break it evenly. Covering the pot will create steam together with water. The presence of moisture will soften up the rice and bring back its fluffiness as it was first cooked.
