It’s possible that you’ve seen the vegetable called an artichoke in your local supermarket many times.

But after I questioned many people I know, hardly any had tasted one.

The taste of the fresh artichoke has a slightly nutty taste that is not strong. The texture of raw artichoke is best described as crunchy.

How Do You eat raw Artichoke?

With a sharp knife or scissors trim off the stem. Then you can slice or just add it to your dish.

The best dish to use raw artichokes in is a salad. They give the salad a great look and taste.

What do Steamed Artichokes Taste Like

Steamed artichokes taste slightly sweet, like a sweet green vegetable. Upon steaming the texture becomes much softer and juicy. Realy they have a mild flavor.

The easiest way to steam them is to use a rice cooker – and just steam. You can also use a steaming pot with a trivet to key them out of the water.

What do boiled Artichokes Taste Like

Boiled Artichokes taste sweet also with a hint of nut. Boiling them makes it very soft and quick wet.

What do Fried Artichokes Taste Like

Frying artichokes: Fried artichokes taste a little similar to fried asparagus. They will have a slightly sweeter taste though. This is my favorite method to cook them.

Grilling artichokes actually intensifies the flavor and introduces a smokey sweet flavor to the artichoke.

How Do You Add Flavor To Artichokes?

Of course, you add seasoning like salt and pepper.

  • Roast them with potatoes and turkey – they bring a really nice taste to the dish.
